A Dec. 6, 2009 e-mail sent to Clean Cities members reported that the Department of Transportation has announced the availability of $280 million for urban circulator projects such as streetcars, buses, and bus facilities to support job creation, expand business opportunities and improve people’s quality of life.
The maximum award amount is for $25 million per project. The money represents the first round of funding for the joint HUD-DOT-EPA Livability Initiative.
